FAQs

When should I enroll my child in your programmes?

ECA Education provides year-round programmes suitable for all primary and secondary school students, so it does not matter when your child enrolls. However, you should know that the earlier you start learning something, the higher the possibility (and the sooner) you can master it

When are ECA Education programmes open to enrolment?

Unlike schools, we do not have a specific period for enrolment. If you are interested in joining our programmes, please contact Mr. Yung at 2147-3728 to sign up anytime.

How can I book my lessons?

Please call ECA Education at 2147-3728 to book your classes.

Who is authorised to book tuition sessions at ECA Education?

Bookings must be made by students who are currently attending classes at ECA Education and/or their parent(s) or guardian(s) through our online booking system, or by telephone.

Class booking for ongoing clients

An ‘ongoing client’ is someone who has made a commitment to attend weekly tuition for an indefinite period of time. These clients should request suitable timeslots each week via our online booking system.

Our online booking system allocates timeslots on a first-come-first-served basis. In compliance with the regulations of the Education Bureau, it is impossible for ECA Education to be overbooked at any given timeslot.

We also accept ad-hoc bookings made by telephone. While ECA Education will try to accommodate such bookings, an alternative timeslot will be suggested should the desired timeslot be unavailable. Ad-hoc booking will NOT incur any extra service charge on top of our basic tuition rate.

Ongoing clients are billed at the end of the month for the services used during that month. Please note that ECA Education does not provide credit terms, so bills should be settled immediately.

Can I block-book my lessons?

Clients who wish to attend ECA classes for a definite number of lessons over a fixed period of time may wish to block-book their lessons in advance. These clients should not use our online booking system; instead, they should contact our staff directly to book their desired time block.

Can lessons be cancelled?

1. Ongoing clients

Ongoing clients can cancel their bookings anytime by logging into our online booking system. Please contact our staff for more information.

2. Block-booking clients

Block-booking clients are not allowed to cancel lessons that have been paid for. Therefore, please ensure that the class schedule is correct prior to confirmation and payment.

3. Sick leave

Upon presentation of a medical certificate, ongoing clients will not be charged for the lesson; block-booking clients will also be refunded for the lesson. Kindly notify our staff at your earliest if you are unable to attend class due to illness.

Typhoon signal no. 8 or above / Black rainstorm warning

Students should not come in for class if the signal/warning is raised before the lesson. If it is raised during class, we will finish the lesson before sending all students home and closing the centre. Parents of younger children are reminded to arrange the pick-up of their child from the centre.

Typhoon signal no. 3 / Red rainstorm warning

While the centre will be open in this weather, primary students are entitled to cancel class if they find the weather unfit for traveling; secondary students, on the other hand, are expected to attend class. Nevertheless, students who need to travel from/through high-risk areas in the New Territories are urged to use their sound judgment to decide whether they should come to the centre. Students who cannot attend their lesson should immediately inform our staff.

Does ECA Education only provide tutorials for the HKDSE curriculum?

Certainly not. We offer tutorial programmes that cover both the local and international curricula which include HKDSE, GSCE, GCSE A-Level, SAT, SAT2 and IB.

Can I still contact my tutors here when I am studying abroad?

Yes, of course. Students can reach us via our online messaging system, which enables us to help them instantly with their study difficulties. We also recommend that you stay on track with your studies by booking lessons with us when you visit Hong Kong during term and holiday breaks.

As a parent, how will I be able to monitor my child’s performance?

ECA Education holds strong to our vision of boosting our students’ academic performance within a short period of time. As such, as are happy to keep parents informed of their child’s progress. Parents are welcome to give us a call or speak directly to our staff with any queries about their children’s performance.
